The works comprised the complete refurbishment of the existing grandstand bar to provide the new “Longshots Bar”. A very much under used and outdated bar and betting facility was refurbished and extended to provide a much needed and improved space at the racecourse. Given it’s location within the enclosure, this bar caters specifically to racegoers focused on betting, offering them convenient access to both a betting shop and the on-course external bookmakers.
The refurbishment works included stripping back the bar to its structural elements, and creating a feel inspired by an industrial theme. The centrepiece of the facility being a long, fixed TV wall, which provides “the punters” with access to all of the activity going on around the racecourse, at other meetings and also to sports broadcasts.
The re-organisation of the space doubled its capacity compared to the previous layout. This increased capacity, combined with the updated facilities, has made the new Longshots Bar a popular hub for betting and socializing and has significantly improved the experience for betting-focused visitors.
