TREADMILLS PHASE 3 – NEW CINEMA

Client – The Central Northallerton Development Co. Ltd

The works comprised the construction of the new cinema adding another phase to the “Treadmills” development.

The steel framed flat roof structure with a combination of brickwork, curtain walling and striking copper coloured cladding has become an “iconic” building of the town.

The ground floor of the building provided three units completed to shell and core status for further development by retail/restaurant providers.

The main cinema facilities were housed on the upper floors accessed by both staircase and a passenger lift. The facilities provided four cinema auditoria along with meeting spaces, cinema shop, bar, café and wc’s, with final fitout being provided by Everyman and their hospitality providers.

Externally there was comprehensive works package to provide the Treadmills centre piece Civic Square. This included the installation tree pits, planting beds, seating, street furniture and a sandstone and block paved open space forming the external hub for the leisure courtyard linking the cinema complex to the remainder of the Treadmills development.
