Work is well underway on the new changing rooms at Sowerby Sports Village, Thirsk.
Moody Construction Ltd have been chosen to construct the new changing room facilities in the next phase of the development of the new community sports and recreational facility on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire town. The scheme is funded by Hambleton District Council and Project Managed by Glenrate Ltd and is due for completion in spring 2023.
The new building, which was designed by SPA Architects, will house two 18 person changing rooms with toilets and showers, an accessible changing room match along with officials and referees changing facilities. In addition to the changing facilities the building will house a small community/workshop space, a kiosk facility and toilets which can be accessed by both spectators and public using the recreational facilities.
The single story building has been designed with future expansion in mind. The design of the building means that expansion can be achieved both horizontally and vertically to suit the needs of the growth of the recreational facility.
John Cole, Pre-Construction Manager at Moody Construction Ltd said: “As a local building contractor nothing gives us more pleasure to be involved in projects that improve where we live.”
