DOING PORRIDGE AT TREADMILLS

During our history Moody Construction have worked inside the former Northallerton Prison on many occasions. Our former offices, yard and joiners shop on East Road faced the main entrance gates to the Prison.

We were delighted to be invited to tender for and subsequently win two phases of work to refurbish the former listed prison buildings which were retained as part of the re-development of the area. The new Treadmills will deliver a high quality mixed use development comprising retail, restaurants, cinema, cafés, residential and a tech hub in a combination of new build and refurbishment/extension of existing listed buildings.

Initially tendering for and winning Phase II to convert and extend Blocks B, C, D and E (former cellblocks and Govener’s accommodation) into category A office accommodation and retail space.

Block A (the former administration block) followed in a separate tender which was again won in competition. The works to Block A again being to refurbish the existing building to provide both retail at ground floor and category A office accommodation at the upper levels.

Work on both phases is due for completion in early 2021.
