There may be nothing to see from Albert Road but behind the cloak of the wrapped scaffolding work is progressing at pace on the Exchange Place building. The listed building is currently under going facade and structural repairs as part of a plan to refurbish the whole building.
Moody Construction Ltd have been appointed to carryout the partly English Heritage grant funded works to provide structural repairs, brickwork and stone facade repairs, repointing, roofing repairs and replacements, window refurbishments and the demolition of a rear extension.
This phase of works was won in competitive tender and is due to be complete in the spring of 2023.
A second phase of works to provide a new rear extension and internal refurbishment is planned but not yet confirmed.
